Killingworth Lake has developed into a very good fishery. With the addition of reed beds and other methods it has given a chance for fish to bread and become well stocked. There is a very good natural recrutment in the large lake with the Roach in particular spawning very successfully. The Environment Agency and North Tyneside Council have been most supportive in the development of these lakes. The lakes contain carp, bream, roach, tench, perch, crucians, rudd and pike. There is wheelchair access all along the southern bank of the larger lake. Day tickets can be obtained from Killingworth Leisure Center.
